This is a sensational handcrafted Santo Domingo multi-gems inlay panel necklace by world renown artisan Mary Coriz Lovato. The precision inlay images are world class workmanship and museum quality! This spectacular necklace features 10 inlaid sections, each representing the Native American way of life, from the flute player praying over corn to the seeds germinating. The cross is a symbol for Christianity which has taken a place within the Native peoples lives. The centerpiece shows the symbol for Corn, which is considered a gift from the Great Spirit for sustenance and life. Measures approx 1.25″ x 1″ while the smaller sections are about 1″ x 3/4″ wide. This showpiece necklace is comprised of turquoise, apple coral, onyx, shell and serpentine. Each section is inlaid onto orange spiny oyster shell. The beads are all handmade spiny oyster and apple coral. The two strand piece is finished with sterling silver beads and a handcrafted hook and eye. Necklace measures approx 17 long and weighs about 96 grams. Comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
