This concho belt was made by Navajo artist Calvin Martinez. Calvin started making jewelry in 1970 when he was 14 years old. His family made jewelry so in the beginning he did mostly cast work for his parents. As he grew he perfected his own style. Calvin says I make my jewelry from scratch. My jewelry is all handmade from start to finish. Although the conchos on this belt are small, they have a perfect weight, heavier than most you find by not thick and bulky. Each concho has a hand cut scalloped edge and finished with perfect stamp work. I have pictured each concho so you can see each one is in perfect condition. However the leather belt does show some ware. This is a beautiful vintage piece and will make a great addition to any Native American jewelry collection. Size of Buckle: 2 1/4″ by 1 3/4″.
