ABOUT ALBERT JAKE AT BOTTOM OF PAGE! It’s truly an amazing looking stone! It’s almost mesmerizing! One thing that’s always hard to find in the industry are cuffs made for smaller wrists! They all seem to be made so large that they slip right off your wrist or they keep turning around & just don’t want to stay stationary like they should! And we with tinier wrists, always seem to be left out of the picture!! One thing I love is the small 1 gap, because it prevents it from turning & falling off! I feel lucky to at least got my hands on this because they are that hard to find since most make them for medium to large size wrist! Traditionally made, but having a modern day feel, it wasn’t till around the mid 1970’s that this gorgeous looking stone started making it’s way into the Native American jewelry marketplace.. The perfectly round cut takes up the width of the cuff, so it’s nice & large & super pretty! It is set atop of a heavy shank that has a corrugated/tooled design in it’s entirety with an arrow on both sides & traditional Navajo appliques that dress up the sterling.. Within the past year, Al dropped his usual 14 gauge to a 12 gauge which gives the metal an extremely solid & heavy feel, along with an non-destructible weight! Emulating a look as if aged, the sterling is finished in a oxidized-“Vintage Revival” finishing.. This finishing gives it more of a’Chiaroscuro’ sort of contrast, with wonderful light/dark contrasting. It has the perfect balance between stone & metal without it being too’over the top, but a size that will definitely get noticed! WEIGHT: OUNCES -58.6 Grams. CHAROITE SIZE: 29 mm Round. (For a small wristTotal wrist size 6-1/4). ADJUSTABLE: NO-Gauge too heavy. HALLMARK: “A JAKESterling”/Indian Head Penny Icon/HBH. Please know your wrist size before purchasing. (See below on How to Fit a Cuff). If you need help, please contact me! Unless the cuff is defective(Which it isn’t) there is now a 3% charge that will be taken out from the total price you paid if there’s a return.. This applies to buyers remorse, too big, too small, too heavy, don’t like it, doesn’t fit, etc.. This is one good reason why you should go over measurements, read all the detail I provided you & know your wrist size before purchasing. Please ask any questions/concerns you may have beforehand. Navajo/Zuni artist Al Jake’s work demands a higher price than most & it’s pretty obvious why. I don’t care whether it’s his’more than perfectly made-well executed’cuffs, his rings or pendants, he will always make sure his pieces have the cleanest workmanship & they’re’done right, no matter how long it takes to make the piece. He is a the epitome of a true artist who knows the “why’s”, the “what’s” & the “how’s” of what he’s doing & why he’s doing it & never do you have to question how long he’s has been at it, because you will see it in his work.. His trained eye for form & balance can be witnessed throughout anything he makes! We that know Al, know that he consistently creates some of the finest Navajo jewelry & never fails us when we want to own & wear the best. He is a “Above Average” artist that offers only the finest in today’s Native American jewelry! HOW TO FIT A CUFF. You can “You Tube” it by searching”Proper way of putting on a cuff” or something along those lines! Cuffs fit differently than any other bracelet & it’s extremely important that they fit properly! The best way to get a good fit is to measure a cuff bracelet you already have that fits you well. The total inside circumference is the inside circumference of the bracelet from end to end plus the gap (the distance between the ends)If you don’t have a cuff bracelet , then measure your wrist where you want to wear the bracelet. Cut a strip of paper approximately 8 long and as wide as the bracelet you would like to wear. Wrap the paper around your wrist where you would wear the bracelet. You might secure the paper with a piece of tape to get a better feel of the fit. Remove the paper and measure from the end to the mark for the circumference of your wrist. EXAMPLE: If the inside Circumference end to end is 5″ and the Gap is 1″, the total inside Circumference would be 6″ and would be suitable for a wrist approximately 5 3/4″ to 6 1/4 depending on how tight or loose you like to wear your bracelets.. Remember the interior does not change, but the gap can be adjusted, either by yourself or your jeweler, depending on the thickness of the gauge. The thickness of the fleshy part (above your wrist) is equally as important as to whether a cuff fits properly & even though the cuff could fit your wrist, if the gap is too small or too large, can make a huge difference in the cuff fitting. A cuff should not’roll’ around on your wrist(Too loose), nor should you see flesh hanging over the edge(Too tight) Always put the cuff on above the wrist bone where it is fleshy, then bring it down to wrist. And NEVER “squeeze” to tighten!! You will lose the integrity of the metal & if there are stones, they can loosen.. Rather, turn your wrist over, push down on one end at the terminal, push down on the other at the terminal.. Go easy, if the gauge is lighter.
