Who ever made this was a master Zuni artisan. Approx Age: Vintage, circa 1950s. Size: Overall width of the slide is about 1 3/4″ W x 2 1/4″ L (longest points). It’s on a 36 braided leather cord with sterling tips. Weighs 33.6 g. (With most of the cord off the scale). Additional Info: Awesome multi-stone Zuni inlay Thunderbird. The stones are turquoise, MOP, onyx and coral set in sterling silver. Cord is braided black leather with sterling silver tips that also have to small multi-stone inlay Thunderbirds. Now, one of the most prolific mines in the US has been closed! The Sleeping Beauty mine produced well, about 1600 pounds a month, according to information obtained from the miner/owner in 2010. The Quiver is still soft & pliable with little if any missing coat. It measures about 34 inches including decoration. The Rawhide Strap Loop & Sinew Lacing at the Quiver top are rigid/stiff, probably by design. The Arrows are 22-29 inches long with the shortest having an Iron Tip and the others having Flint Tips.
