Theresa Garcia Salvador Acoma Fine line. Vessel Native American Pueblo Indian Hand Coiled polychrome Pottery. This is a bold and beautiful hand coiled black and red on white Acoma water vessel created by Theresa Garcia Salvador. Elements, checkerboard pattern, and lightning steps. The form and painting are excellent. This pot is in. No chips, cracks or restoration. It measures 6″ h x 9″ w and is signed “T Salvador Acoma NM” and “Garcia”. Garcia-Salvador was born into the Acoma Pueblo in 1964 and is the sister of Vivian Seymour (teacher) and Clovis Garcia. She is the cousin of Nadine Mansfield, Gary Louis, Rita Malie and Veronica Louis. She is a member of the Red Corn Clan and has been an active potter since the 80s working in traditional polychrome jars and bowls. She is included in several publications including Schaaf’s “Southern Pueblo Pottery: 2000 Artist Biographies”, and Berger & Schiffer’s “Pueblo & Navajo Contemporary Pottery”. She specializes in hand coiled thin walled Acoma water vessels and flat seed pots. She makes her pottery the traditional way along with firing outdoors.
