This is a nice necklace that was made in the 60’s most likely so its over 50 years old!!! . It is Sterling Silver although not marked sterling it does test sterling. Dennis James made several of these necklaces some with more beads some with less. The Naja’s were exactly alike because they were made from the same sandcast mold. It’s very well-made and it’s plain silver which will go with any bracelet or concho belt. It looks great with a t-shirt and a pair of jeans as well as formal evening dress. The measurements of this necklace are in the photos. It hangs down 13 inches from the front of my neck which is an average length for a squashblossom. The necklace measures 25 5/16 inches from hasp to eye hook and weighs a whopping 236 grams!!! The naja is 3 inches tall and 2 1/4 inches wide. The blossoms themselves are 1 1/4 inches long and 5/8 inches wide. The handmade beads are 11 mm in diameter. It’s all strung on foxtail chain with a hook and eye clasp. The back of the Naja is the hallmark of Dennis James which is D J. It does test sterling silver although it is not marked. As you can see from my photos I hang my jewelry on my walls because I think it is beautiful art work. As I have stated in other listings you should leave patina (tarnish) on Vintage Native jewelry because it can drastically affect the value. However, you can polish this up to make it look like it was made yesterday if you do not care about appraisal value.
